This summer sees a new era of luxury coastal escapism.

Three Mile Beach occupies an interesting space within Britain’s luxury travel landscape. It combines the privacy of a contemporary coastal home with concierge support, wellness treatments and destination dining. Now, with the launch of a new collection of experience-led stays and an enhanced programme for longer-term escapes, the Cornish retreat is positioning itself as much more than a weekend getaway.

Since opening in 2021, Three Mile Beach has established itself as one of Cornwall’s most distinctive luxury retreats. The collection of beach houses and beach shacks combines thoughtful and unique design with an effortless sense of freedom. Cedar hot tubs, barrel saunas, outdoor showers and expansive private decks come as standard so guests can spend their days entirely at their own pace, while still enjoying many of the services associated with a high-end hotel. So whatever the weather you can make the most of your stay. For summer 2026, Three Mile Beach is introducing a series of curated stays designed to deepen guests’ connection to the surrounding coastline. Wellness, gastronomy and outdoor adventure sit at the heart of the new programme, reflecting a growing desire among travellers for holidays that feel both restorative and meaningful.

The wellness offering at Three Mile Beach has always felt considered. Rather than importing trends, the retreat draws inspiration from its environment, harnessing the restorative qualities of the Atlantic and the rhythms of coastal living. Leading the new programme is The Atlantic Reset, a multi-day experience centred around movement, recovery and immersion.

Guests are guided through cold-water therapy sessions, breathwork practices and contrast treatments, alternating between invigorating sea swims and the warmth of their private sauna. Tailored treatments complete a programme designed to restore both physical energy and mental clarity.

What distinguishes the retreat from more traditional wellness destinations is its informality. There is no rigid schedule, no expectation to follow a prescribed path. Instead, guests are invited to engage as deeply as they choose, balancing moments of challenge with periods of complete relaxation. The new Dune Rituals experience takes a softer approach. Combining sunrise yoga, guided wellness practices and restorative treatments, it offers an opportunity to reconnect with the natural world through movement and the senses. Wellness hampers featuring products from Cornwall-based skincare specialists Inlight Beauty await guests on arrival, further reinforcing the retreat’s strong sense of place. As luxury wellness continues to evolve, experiences such as these feel particularly relevant. Increasingly, travellers are seeking opportunities to feel genuinely restored rather than simply occupied, and Three Mile Beach understands that distinction well.

Family travel has undergone a transformation in recent years. Parents are no longer looking solely for entertainment; they want something that feels enriching, memorable and genuinely engaging for all ages. The new Mini Explorers programme has been designed with exactly that in mind. Upon arrival, younger guests are equipped with carefully curated adventure kits designed to encourage exploration and creativity. Rockpool discoveries, nature trails, sketchbooks and beach adventures become part of the encounter, transforming the coastline into a playground for curiosity and imagination. The programme also includes family surf lessons, pizza-making and stargazing evenings beneath Cornwall’s famously dark skies. These activities feel deliberately low-tech, encouraging families to spend time together away from screens and schedules. Importantly, this has been designed with parents in mind too. Additional housekeeping services and thoughtful touches throughout the stay allow adults to enjoy moments of relaxation while children remain immersed in their own adventures.

Food has become an increasingly important component of the luxury travel scene, and Three Mile Beach continues to build upon its culinary credentials. At the centre of the offering is Chomp, the retreat’s restaurant and bar. With an emphasis on seasonal ingredients, local producers and relaxed social dining, it has become a destination in its own right for both guests and locals alike. This summer, the launch of Tide to Table places food at the forefront of the guest experience. Beginning with a guided foraging excursion, guests are given an introduction to Cornwall’s rich natural larder before moving into a hands-on cooking workshop led by a private chef. Ingredients sourced from both land and sea become the basis for a menu that celebrates the region’s extraordinary produce. Alongside the culinary workshops, guests can enjoy tastings with local producers and carefully curated beach feast hampers filled with regional specialities. This speaks of a wider shift within luxury travel, where authenticity increasingly outweighs formality. Rather than simply consuming a destination, travellers want to understand it, engage with it and take part in its stories. Tide to Table delivers exactly that.

The properties offer generous living spaces, fully equipped kitchens, dedicated fibre broadband and private outdoor areas designed for year-round use. Mornings can begin with a coffee on the deck before transitioning into a surf lesson. Opportunities for a coastal walk, a sauna session or time spent on the beach are endless. Evenings are reserved for outdoor dining, cocktails at Chomp or simply watching the changing light as the sun sets on the beachscape behind.

Today’s travellers are not necessarily seeking formality or extravagance. Instead, they are looking for flexibility that feels personal. They want the freedom to shape each day according to their mood, whether that means embarking on a wellness programme, gathering family and friends around a long table, learning new skills or simply spending uninterrupted time together. Larger properties provide ample space for multi-generational gatherings and celebratory occasions, while the beach shacks offer a more intimate setting for couples, young families and longer-term guests.

Throughout every stay, the emphasis remains consistent: thoughtful design and exceptional comfort. With this new programme of retreats Three Mile Beach goes beyond being simply somewhere to stay. It has become a destination that reflects the way many people now want to travel. For those seeking a fresh perspective on luxury coastal living, there are few places doing it more convincingly.
